At Sandbox Children’s Theatre, we live by the principles of the sandbox. Play. Build things. Make stuff happen. Have fun. Create. Share. Look at worms. We strive to produce children’s theatre that is musical, creative, character-building and above all, fun. We want children to go away with a smile on their face and warmth in their heart. But most of all, we want them to go away and be better little people. It is important that our shows have strong messages of tolerance, acceptance, and appreciation for all of human kind. Children need encouragement to be proud of their differences, because it is these differences that make them who they are. We want children to take joy in the small discoveries of everyday life – the smell of rain, the shape of a leaf, an afternoon with a friend. The world, after all, is a pretty neat place. And when we slow down and take a look, the simplicity of a blade of grass can tell us a lot about what is really important in our lives. If you stop to think about it, there’s pretty much treasure everywhere, and sometimes, it’s right in your own backyard. So why don’t you dig? It’s amazing what you find!
